Professor Askar Zhussupbekov made an interesting report at the geotechnical videoconference RSSMGE platform on February 17, 2022. The report of Askar Zhussupbekov was held online, and aroused great interest among the participants of the videoconference.

The topic of the lecture of President of Kazakhstan Geotechnical Society, Vice President of ISSMGE for Asia between 2009-2013, Chairman of the International Promotion Comitee T-voSibGt-v, Chair of TC 305 ( ISSMGE), ISSMGE Presidential Candidate for 2022-2026, Director of the Geotechnical Institute of the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov, Professor Askar Zhussupbekov was "Geotechnical problems of megastructures and megaprojects in difficult soil conditions of Kazakhstan".

The report was accompanied by interesting informative video about the objects being designed, under construction and already built. After completing the lecture, Askar Zhussupbekov answered all the questions of participants and told about his participation in solving geotechnical problems of unique construction sites of a new capital and regions in Kazakhstan. He also explained the system of training highly qualified academic staffs in Kazakhstan.

As the future Chairman of 17th Asian Regional Conference on Geotechnicval Engineering, Askar Zhussupbekov invited the participants of videoconference, members of RSSMGE and T-voSibGt-v to participate in the 17th Asian Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering in Nur-Sultan which will held in August 14-18, 2023. He gave a brief information about the venue, residence of the participants, the main areas of work, the planned work and cultural programs of the upcoming conference.

Professor A.Zh. Zhusupbekov thanked the Board of RSSMGE and its President, Academician V.A. Ilyichev for supporting his candidacy in the upcoming ISSMGE presidential elections. He spoke about the latest ISSMGE news, the final stages of preparation of the ICSMGE 2022 Organizing Committee for the International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering in Sydney, May 2022, Australia's sanitary and epidemiological requirements for forum participants.

T-voSibGt-v, RSSMGE and all participants of the videoconference once again expressed their support to Professor Askar Zhussupbekov in the upcoming elections, wished him an obligatory victory, expressed their wishes and instructions for improving the development program of the ISSMGE international society and optimizing the work of ISSMGE in future. Academician V.A. Ilyichev advised A.Zh. Zhussupbekov to make some adjustments to his presidential program (Vision for ISSMGE), increasing its attractiveness for national geotechnical societies in different regions of our planet.
